"I just had my first curly girl haircut yesterday. Joy went to Devachan salon in NY city for training. Devachan Salon is owned by Lorraine Massey who wrote CURLY GIRL.

Joy gave me the best haircut that I have ever had. She cut my hair dry as soon as I arrived at the salon.

Next she washed my hair and explained the best washing and condtioning process. Then she showed me the best way to style my hair, then she let me sit under the hood dryer and relax while my hair dried. After it was dry she checked the cut and made sure there were no hairs or curls out of place. It was a wonderful experience!

I highly recommend her! I will be going back to see her again! "

"I went to Joy about a week ago. She is the first curl specialist I have been to. She gave me the best haircut of my life. She took the split ends off and cut with the curl so the curls sat better. She then cleansed with devacurl no poo, conditioned with one condition, left b'leave in in, and styled with Angell. My hair was lookin' fly! I drove an 1 hour and a half to get to her because I live in SC and her salon is in Charlotte, NC, but it was well worth it. She was also very gentle with my dry, tangly, coarse 3b hair. Oh yeah, I was in doubt at first because I didn't think she had much experience with ethnic hair, but she proved me wrong. If you have curly hair and live near charlotte, nc I would definitely recommend going to her!"

Joy,
I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know how much I LOVE my hair! I've gotten so many compliments on it since you cut it last week. My husband has told me how nice it looks every day. (He says its very sassy- which is what I wanted!) I've even refered a few people to you, because everyone keeps asking what I did, and who I went to.

You did a wonderful job, and I love the products as well. Thank you again for fitting me in on such short notice, I truly appreciate it. I was feeling very shlumpy and not so good about myself after having the baby, you helped give me a much needed confidence boost before I returned to the working world.
