I got my hair cut today, and I love it!! First, the salon is VERY nice. She is very professional, and best of all -- she did a great job. I was very very happy with the whole process. The cut. She customizes everything to your individual hair needs. It was just great. She showcases the Deva products (the line by Lorraine Massey), instructs and uses them on your hair. I bought the travel kit for starters, I really did like the products. I really like the cut, its sassy and sophisticated, and I may even be able to wear my favorite earrings again because my hair is shorter -- yay (they used to get tangled up). Joyfully Curly Is a full service salon and spa. I plan on going back for a massage. The place is REALLY nice! Yeah, she was good. She cuts your hair dry. She cuts each curl individually. She dried me under the dryer for a few, then used a diffuser. You'll be happy with the process for sure.
After three years of mediocre haircuts at the "best" salons in Charlotte, I am
so very happy to have finally found Joy! It's not just that she knows how to cut
curly hair; she's an excellent all around stylist. I went in with a long list of things I didn't want (not too bushy! not too short! not too round! not triangular! not in my face!); she listened patiently, looked at pictures with me to make sure she knew what I liked and didn't, and then gave me a fantastic cut that looks adorable (and not just the day I left the salon; it looks just as good when I do it at home). Same thing with color; she spent a long time looking at samples and making suggestions about how to get the look I wanted, and then gave me the best color I've had in a long while (bonus: she uses the Kuene line, which has nice staying power and is easy on my hair). The salon itself is pretty and convenient to most of Charlotte (Sharon Amity at Monroe), and the prices are consistent with most good salons in town. A great experience & a great haircut - highly recommended!
